Over at Jennifer's blog, That Girl, That Quilt, I saw a post awhile back for a pretty dish rug to put in the kitchen. Instead of just laying a towel on the counter and putting clean dishes on it to dry, make it a "cute" dish rug! Here's a link to her post if you want to check it out: Quilted dish rug. I put my own spin on it and here's mine:
The back side is a towel and I left it that way with no fabric.
It also works as a centerpiece. :)
I made some binding for the "was going to be a floor rug, now going to be a table runner" WIP. I think stripes make a nice binding. I also did some hand quilting on the runner so I should have it finished up very soon! I just love "finishing" something.
Our summer has temporarily disappeared today, 58 degrees and thunderstorms - so it's a great day to sew! And make a pot of spaghetti....and bread in the bread machine.

and a shout out to Quilt Story. Love your log cabin row this week!
What a great dish rug! I saw one yesterday and now I think I need to make a couple! Beautiful fabrics, wish you had a picture of the back. Love your striped binding.
